Prosperity Hens are hand stitched, stuffed, beaded and strung together by women artisans in small villages in northern India. The women carefully choose the colored glass beads, jewel-tone fabric, silver ornaments, and the unique tinkle of the hand-formed bronze bell to reflect their individual personalities, so each strand is unique. As their name suggests and belief has it, Hens bring prosperity and good luck when hung in a doorway or window. These traditional art pieces have been a symbol in Indian homes for generations.
